Obsessions

Corrine Collins used to constantly tell me what a "sensationalist" I am. Maybe because I say things like "that's the best thing ever" or "that's the saddest thing ever" or maybe because most of my sentences end with "EVER!" and I just tend to exaggerate most everything. It's fine. NBD. Condoleezza Rice told me to find my passion and maybe my passion is being passionate about EVERYTHING.

ANYWAY.

The point of this post is to list my current obsessions for the week or month.

1.

Maybe she has crooked bottom teeth and this video isn't the greatest, but I just love this song so much. SO MUCH. And I especially love the 30 second section starting at 2:15. OMG i just want to belt out these lyrics all day longgggg! Of course I bought it on iTunes on this week and I won't tell you what the play count is.

2. Quinoa! Quinoa! Quinoa! Being the Asian that I am, I maybe love white rice more than I should. So naturally, rice's healthier cousin quinoa stopped on by this week and we're now inseparable. Just me, quinoa, lemon pepper, and chicken broth... mmmm! True love <3 <3 <3 -_- (thats for you EMNJBB) 3. Thomas Bagel Thins + Turkey Pastrami + Subway honey mustard (yes, i most certainly did purchase tiny cups of their honey mustard for 25 cents a piece) + Tillamook cheese= best food decision of my life.

4. Turbo Kickboxing with Shukria Stewart . Her husband came to class for the first time yesterday and she got choked up and it was P.R.E.C.I.O.U.S. best night of my life? maybe so.

5. Target dollar section. Okay, that's my obsession forever and always. Dangerous place to be with no money.

5.5 Typing in any word I think of on my Google Chrome search bar to see the definition and spelling. JUST.IN.CASE.

Which reminds me, I AM ABSOLUTELY HEAD OVER HEELS IN LOVE WITH/OBSESSED WITH ANYTHING TO DO WITH GOOGLE. Good heavens! If Google was a man we'd be so married by now.

6. Anything to do with my birthday. Thinking about it, planning things for it, you name it. I. LOVE. MY. BIRTHDAY. and birthdays in general. It pretty much keeps me distracted from any kind of work for the month of January. And that is just fine by me. (it's just 4 days away BTW)

7. The recent fact that I am definitely in the group I want to be in for English class. Just me and 3 boys. 2 married and 1 single. The 1 single guy I find the cutest! Badda bing badda boom! I may have already organized our google doc and google spreadsheet with a color coded schedule. What? They love me already.

I'm also obsessed with sleep so why am I still awake at this late hour? Peace OUTTTTTT.

Did you know?

-Today is a palindrome day in history! 11411. Just so you know.
-I am 1 of 2 girls in my English class besides the teacher and the married TA. AWESOME. Do you dare me to anonymously request one of the (hopefully) single and cute looking ones to be in my group for the rest of the semester?
-I am scared to death of Sea Monkeys. Sheesh, I just got chills thinking about how disgusting and creepy they are. Reading this post just made me remember the rough times I had when we threw ours in the grass.
-I got this free single of the week on iTunes and surprisingly I really love it.
-I love banana baby food. Tastes like yogurt so stop gagging already.
-I can't seem to go to bed before 3 AM this week, hence I'm writing a post because theres nothing else to do.
- My new roommate brought a TV with her and we discovered we have basic cable. A universal remote, secondhand DVD player, and tons of DVDs plus Super Nintendo suddenly keep me more distracted than ever.
-I'm addicted to frozen Dole Mango chunks.
-I'm on an intramural co-ed soccer team and I think that I may have met the team captain before... when the RED in me told him not to cut the Divine Comedy line and get to the end 2 months ago... oops... he probably doesn't remember or he just looks really similar.
- I met Condoleezza Rice on campus today. Okay. I didn't meet her. But I was only like less than a football field away from her. Basically the same thing as meeting her.
-I am in desperate need of a new shampoo that works and smells good. Know of any?

Random ramblings over.
But check this out: is he seriously wearing that mic? So what? You saw that video 2 years ago? Sorry that I just saw it for the first time in Floral Design today and can't believe it's real.

So you were wondering what I want for my birthday?

I'm turning 22 in two weeks from today! I love birthdays and of course I'm celebrating mine all month because I can and should. And it's a good thing people still mistake me for a high schooler, otherwise I might be sick of aging. Blessing # 456 for being only 5'2 and ethnic.

For the 2.5 readers out there, here is my wish list of 10 items I'd like to own someday. Because this is more fun than reading about Technical Communication.

1) a new straightener! my Chi has called it quits these last few months and I'm ready to try something else
2) the Tangled soundtrack... because I'm ultra nerdy and quite enjoy most Disney soundtracks while I'm driving around town.. also, even though I truly dislike Mandy Moore I actually love these songs. A. LOT.
3) these TOMS in size 7.5... and if I could be completely honest right now I'd love to copy Amanda and get some of THESE!
4) Forever 21 necklaces, stud earrings, or headbands minus anything bejeweled or outrageously huge.. and if I'm still being completely honest I'd like to copy Amanda and own every kind of animal charm necklace or even this ... and maybe even be her for a day
5) a new Magic Bullet since mine decided to smell like burning rubber and shoot out black flakes
6) iTunes! iTunes! iTunes!
7) a new car that doesn't sound like it's killing a million hampsters every time I turn on the heat or turn a corner
8) knee high socks to wear under boots and keep my shin shins warm
9) the http://www.amazon.com/Life-Beautiful-Bella-Nicola-Piovani/dp/B00000DCES soundtrack or any combination of lovely Classical music found from my Pandora station
10) a gift card to anywhere. I saw a commercial over the break advertising a company that turns giftcards into cash for the ungrateful people of the world who just can't stand receiving a gift card. What the what? Who doesn't like free money in any form?
BONUS! 11) some form of art for the bare white walls in my new private room or private bathroom!

And just in case my momma decides to follow this blog after all, my favorite little snacks include: Hun Cal Lorna Doones, Pink Lemonade Crystal Light, Watermelon Sourpatch, Pudding singles, Orbit gum, Carbohydrates in any form.

But lets get real, people. I would be the happiest little Asian alive even if I only got my free Cold Stone coupon and balloons. Mabes some flowers too. And probs a cute Hallmark card that sings to me.

What? You don't believe I'm Asian? Exhibit A:

first day of the rest of my life

Today was the first day of classes of my last semester as an undergrad. It's bittersweet, but I'm excited for the next chapter of life and to see what the next 4 months bring. It's been a fam tradition to take pictures on the first day of school right outside the front door, and I decided to continue that when I went away to college. So I decided to take a trip down memory lane and remember the past 4 years with some photos.

at heritage halls dorm hallway. what's that? you wish you could match your headband with your short sleeve velour jacket too? it's easy! just start college with minimal fashion sense.

i stepped up my game a little bit sophomore year and purchased a curling rod hair tool that even i can use (don't forget i still can't braid my own hair. lets not talk about that).

still not making the best clothing choices, but hey! my hair grew out!

first semester of senior year. don't worry i finally upgraded cameras as i got a new one for Christmas! and if i ever wanted to pick the best time to look Asian, this is it!

today: the the second semester of senior year. i'm glad it's freezing outside so i have an excuse to wear my new coat for a photo.

So there we have it. My time at BYU is coming to end, but I sure hope I can be better at blogging to document this final semester! This is the first day of the rest of my life :)
